Story
An old invitation signed “Xu Ning” brings thirty-year-old investigative reporter Xu Ming back to Huaidu after many years. Its paper and ink are both old—and its sender has long been dead.
Villagers avoid speaking about the white-lantern rite, even as contradictory testimony and traces accumulate in the rain. The tomb, rumors of a ritual, and an incident years ago appear connected, but no one will give you the whole answer.
The first investigation lets you press witnesses, examine the scene, and form provisional conclusions, but time, information, and trust are limited. Each time Xu Ming returns to the rain, overlooked contradictions emerge—and your choices determine what the next life can see.
How it plays
A story across lives:Xu Ming returns to the night carrying what he remembers. Each life can follow different people and evidence, exposing flaws in answers that once seemed settled.
Three routes:Begin by saving lives, preserving evidence, or tracing the old rite. Each path adds only part of the truth; they must corroborate one another.
Clear case notes:Important discoveries and provisional conclusions are organized clearly, keeping attention on the people and evidence that matter now.
